You mean the ghd straightener, right?
Well you can go to this website: http://www.ghdhair.com/text-only/index.php?p=TR-LK-CL and it tells you how to do all the celebrity looks, curls, waves, and everything!
"Using the ghd original ceramic styling iron (or the ghd mini styler for tighter curls) start at the nape of your neck and take small sections approximately 1" deep. On the mid-lengths, wrap your hair around the iron, like a ribbon, to create a soft, spiral curl "

The best way is to use a GHD heat protection spray to ease styling and ensure it's nice and smooth.
Then, working with a small section, place the GHD iron at the root and run it down the hair whilst twisting it like a spiral. (takes some practice but when you've mastered it!)
It's very easy to do with GHD's.
Just be adventurous and play around! :-)

Use a curling Iron. I don't think you should get a super cheap one or else you might ruin your hair. I bought one that was really cheap to save money but my hair always got tangled when I used it.
