In my 20 years with amateur boxing, I have seen maybe two or three "violent" acts - usually a boxer who catches an attitude when he has lost. The violent and thug types usually don't stick around as they can't handle the training and discipline and good sportsmanship that is a big part of the amateur boxing philosophy. Another stereotyping that is not accurate.

This is a misconception about fighters now are there fighters that are violent yes but on the whole boxers are very nice people they have nothing to prove by beating some one up in the streets plus all fighters know that if they hit someone in the streets they are going to jail for a long long time here is something else if a fighter comes into the boxing game violent be for they get out they change they learn to have respect for everyone because in boxing your one punch away from the grave so you don,t take anything for gran it

Most boxers have controlled aggression there are exceptions like Mike Tyson he had and has no control. I think if he gets through a day without hurting someone it is a good day.

I think it might be true because my friend's boyfriend boxes and he's very controlling and violent sometimes. He doesn't hit her or anything, but I know he's always angry about something and gets into arguments and shouting matches with people.
