Oh yes if all you want are casual dates. I know a woman that found THREE husbands in THREE YEARS time (and married them all - 1 each year for 3 years in a row)....the net is a good place to find a disposable mate if you want one....I now call her the "Professional Internet Bride" ......ha ha ha.

Hey just be very careful and don't expect a lot to come from it. Hide your wallet and keep your heart in check.

well I hope so because I met my present partner on match.com and that was 6 years ago.

Put it this way. There are thousands of eligible people in this world. Maybe not 100% perfect, but it's amazing how many are 80 or 90% perfect. But how will you ever meet them? How long would you have to sit in your local bar until a suitable person walked through the door- about 60 million years?

It's like Ebay. I recently sold a chain guard for a 2001 Honda CG125 on Ebay and I had 12 bidders. If I had stood on a street corner trying to sell it, I would have been there for a very long time.

Technically it's not online*dating*, it's online match-making. You search for or are introduced to eligible people through an online service, view basic information about them, and send messages to each other. The actual *dating* happens in person.

It's a great way to meet a lot of people (better than picking up some drunk freak at a bar, or having well-intentioned but delusional family members set you up). An increasing numbers of people find their future spouses this way - I personally know at least a dozen couples who met this way and are happily married.

It did for me. I tried yahoo, match and eharmony. I liked match best, but yahoo was good too. I didn't like eharmony at all. It was much more expensive and matched me with guys who I had no interest in whatsoever. I met my boyfriend on match and he had been on and off the site for two years, so you have to be patient. I was on it for almost a year. During that time I met ten other guys and have stayed friends with a few of them.
I think it's a good place to meet people whom you would never have an opportunity to meet otherwise.
Good Luck!

You'll hear good and bad stories.
If you don't want to pay a cent for online dating then see plentyoffish.com.

Some of the drawbacks are that folks aren't honest in their profiles. Outdated pictures, married, over-weight, much older, etc. It's a crapshoot.

it can do but you have to be careful when you go to meet someone in person its suprising how many people put fake photos online to attact a partner.

i would say always have a friend go with you and wait in the same bar and restaurant so if you get into trouble or the person isnt who you thought it would be you have an excuse to get out of there.

Sometimes. I have been with my fella now for over 5 years and we are really happy.

I also know of some bad experiences so BE CAREFUL and don't rush into anything if you meet someone you like.
