It was said they were the only Law enforcement that could enter a person home day or night and search your residence without a search warrant if they thought you had illegal game in your house or residence.

They need a warrant unless they see someone of an illegal nature,then they can enter without a warrant,the same thing applies to a policeman entering your car,if they see a beer can in the floor,then they have the right to proceed with a warrant.The logic is probable cause !

Any law enforcement personnel, with the exception of bounty hunters and prison guards (where inmates and fugitives give up certain rights), MUST have a search warrant to enter unless in extreme circumstances, such as if a man with a weapon runs into a school house for instance.

I know in our area years ago (PA) a guy had kids and was down on his luck/ accepted deer meat and it was out of season...ouch.Someone turned him in and he got nailed...My feelings on it is that we have slaughter houses around and did he know it was deer meat? Poaching is against the law...
