I'd like to ask you what in you brought this question up.
Do you want to just argue and win?
Or are you looking for a truth that can light your way?
6000 years old, Jews said, maybe they had their own calculation methods different from today. Most of the Christians don't believe exact 6000 years either. You are missing great fundamental of life by simply denying one little thing.
To me it's like you are refusing Delicious meal because you don't like color of the plate the food is on.

Nobody said the world is less than 6000 years old. I believe in evolution and god, just to tell you. God could have used evolution to create man.

I am religious, but I don't take everything in the Bible literally. I believe in evolution but who is to say that God didn't guide that evolution. Science and religion do not have to be against one another all the time.

They don't approve of either of those because they like to stay in their little fictional world. They hate learning facts, that's why they hate science. Trying to talk to them about facts is like talking to a 5-year-old with his hands over his ears shouting "I'm not listening! lalala!" It's sad really.
