Contaminated water upsets the balance within us. It puts bacteria into our bodies and sometimes our bodies cannot fight it off. It depends on the bacteria introduced and the fighting power of our white blood cells in our bodies. Some people may get sicker that other ones. If our bodies are already compromised with an illness, then we're **** out of luck. Diarrhea and nausea and vomiting are big symptoms, then after that, dehydration. When there's dehydration, all kinds of things can happen because our cells do not, at that point, have the equipment to handle hardly anything.

It depends on what substance is contaminating the water. There are lots of chemicals, dust, dirt, debris, minerals and protozoans that are harmful to some people. If you drink enough tap water in a lifetime your stomach can develop a hard coat of grime--which isn't very healthy for digestion at all every time you eat something. I don't know how you get rid of the buildup, but some people drink purified mineral water just to get their calcium and other rocks. Hope this helps.

Unpurified Water is a very vague term.
The effect on a human would depend on what the water has in it. Clear water with Kool Aid is unpurified water, so is water and Arsenic.
Just depends.

How "unpurified" or "contaminated" water affects the body depends on the contaminant in the water - it can have diverse effects ranging from illnesses such as diarrhea (probably the most likely effect) to death, if the water is contaminated by a hazardous substance.

Depends on individuals... some protozoans are more harmful to one then another. Some individuals have a stronger immune system then others!
