Why don't they eat regular food like the people they arrest? Do they have stock in Dunkin Donuts or something?

That is a pat generalization. They are individual people, like anyone else. Some are going to love the coffee/ donut combination, while others cannot stand it. Some cannot or will not drink coffee, others will not have a thing to do with donuts of any kind. They are people, totally individual people!

I have to agree that cops are always on the go and they need the quick energy that coffee and donuts provide, i.e. caffeine and sugar but.. they know that its stereotypical and you'd think they would switch up the routine a little bit and eat something the rest of us do. Personally I think they are all morons and they like to get in line single file and say there sir's and mam's like good little boy's or girls, it's that whole military attitude bullshit with no mind of your own.

I believe it is because cops are always on the go and donuts and coffee is simple to eat. you can hold a donut with one hand and drive with the other.

When we are are on call we need to be ready to respond in a moments notice.. coffee and donuts do not take any time to prepare so if we get a call we will be ready to respond instead of standing in a line waiting for food to be cooked. :)

i love donuts (doughnuts) fantastically those from tim hortons. yet i'm not a cop i wager they prefer donuts and espresso its person-friendly to snatch one and bypass and hence having extra time to chase criminals and so on. yet i'm confident police officials have loose time at the same time as they could have acceptable nutrients with thier kin!

I don't think they 'always' do.
They will eat anything convenient and on the go. Sandwiches, would also be a popular choice.
What do you care anyway? As long as they are there to serve and protect - they can eat whatever they want!
