How long does it take to heal after a tooth extraction ?

Question

1) Do you feel pain due to cold or hot food once you extract a tooth ?
2) Does the gun close up the cavity left after extracting a tooth and how long would it take ?
3) What other caises can there be for tooth sensitivity once a tooth has been extracted ? Any experiences ?

1) stay away from hot foods!!! for the first 10 days or so.
2)there will still be a ddep gash in your gums even after healing. it will take about 10 days before fully healed.
3)just the tender gums and the teeth around the extracted will be very achy. my expereinces were not a good one. very painfull. make sure to eat with your pain meds. if youre sensitive like me youll barf and thats never good with a gaping hole in your gums.

2) To fully close it could take up to 2-3 weeks. Unless you get dry sockets, then a lot longer.
3) If the tooth is extracted then the tooth can't be sensitive cause it isn't there.♥

#1. You will continue to fell pain until raw wound closes.
#2. There will be a concave area well after the site is healed. It takes a couple of weeks on average. But depending on age, it can take longer. Older folks tend to have what is known as "dry socket" this condition takes longer to fully heal.
#3. If you still have "tooth sensitivity", you may still have a bit of the root left in the socket, or there may have been bone damage incurred.

Go back and see your dentist. Or if you are real worried, go and see another dentist for a second opinion.

I had my wisdom teeth removed 1 year ago and I babied them! I only drank broth and smooties for a week (no solid food!) Just so I wouldn't aggravate them. When I did eat food again, I found that it took a while for the holes to close up. Food would get crammed in there and I'd end up with dragon breath. So after your meals take a few seconds to rinse your mouth out well with room temperature water to get the crumbs out. Room Temperature because yes my gums were sensitive but that didn't last too long. everyone's different, my sister for example went out for McDonald's within hours of having her wisdoms pulled. Oh, and I lost 10 pounds on my wimpy liquid diet!
Oh and I didn't feel much discomfort and didn't require pain meds.

When I had all my teeth removed it took about four days for the pain to be completely gone. The meds I was on made it very comfortable though. About a week before I could eat anything solid again, I had every pasta dish you could imagine. Never had any issue with food falling into the holes as a gentle water swish removed it. Took a month for the dentures to arrive and I ate a rib-eye steak the night I got them.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled out all at once and it took about 2 weeks till I felt 100 percent. Luckily your mouth heals fast. The gum does close up but they stitch it shut for you. I had to go back a couple of days after the procedure to have stitches removed.
There is sensitivity but for me it was mostly pressure on my gum when chewing.
