I have just been to a YHA over Christmas period.
And I was talking to one of the staff about working with the YHA.
He and all the other staff gave it a glowing reference.
Has anyone worked for the YHA or at present working for them?
If so could you give me your comments please.

Have never worked for YHA but whenever I have stayed in a YHA hostel anywhere in the UK, I always got the impression that the YHA was a good, professional employer. I base this on my observation that the staff always felt comfortable in their work environment and always provided a professional service to their customers. You don't get that if employees don't feel want to work for that employer. Having said this, working in a youth hostel is not everybody's cup of tea so the people who do work for YHA are those that have a genuine long term interest in travelling, hiking, walking and hostelling etc. You do have to find a youth hostel that matches your personality and interests.
