If you had one before, and stoped showing responsibility for it, then you will have to show her you can take over the responsibility again. Start doing things around your house for her, without her asking you to do them. Keep up with smaller responsibilities, then after a couple weeks ask her for a rottwiler again. If she says no, explain to her that you know what it takes to take care of a dog now. Remind her that you have been doing other of your responsibilities around the house, and more. Let her know, that people make mistakes, and that you have learned from yours. Now, you and you yourself will take care of the dog, and she will never have to help you. Say all of this, with sincerity, then it should work! Good Luck!

Rottweilers are not aggressive, its all on how the owner makes them. I have had two, and they are the sweetest natured dogs.
To the question now: If you stopped taking care of your first one, then I can see why your parents won't let you have another. You have to take responsibility for your animals, or you don't deserve one.
Wait until you are ready to take full responsibility, like when you move out of your parents house. Then you can think about getting another dog.

1. first you need a plan for what you will do with the dog when you go to college or move to an apartment that doesnt' take pets.
because parents get stuck with the dog.
2. prove to your mom that you are more responsible now and will do the chores without being reminded. show her by doing dishes, laundry, mopping, vacuuming, etc. prove that you can now take responsiblity.
3. show that you have the money for the dog's food for a whole year saved and you have a way to buy the food.
4. convince her that you understand how to train and potty train a dog. show that you have the money and transportation for dog training classes for you and the dog.
you have an uphill battle since you already blew it once.

I would first research Rottweiler very thoroughly, to make sure it's the right dog for you. Then, try going to a dog shelter and volunteer to take care of Rottweilers only. If you can handle them, try begging your mom nonstop. If she doesn't give in, take care of a little child in the house, or another pet to show her that you are responsible enough.

Let's see, you had one you didn't take care of and had to get rid of it, so now you want to buy another one?
I hate to say it, but I'm siding with your Mom on this one...You didn't show the responsibility on the first one that you should have - You said it yourself, you had stopped taking care of it. I'd be inclined to say that you would do the same thing with another one.

do a whole presantation about why you should get one.Sneak it up on her.Mayb durning a movie or dinner bring it up.Dont keep insisting. If she says NO act like your okay with it.&& then help around the house. If she ever asks you why ur helping just say something like "I would do anything for a rottweiler".Make sure you respect her judgment.Youcan also ask her why u cant get one and improve on any areas.Just remember a rottweiler may not be the best dog to choose.Go smaller.&& then get bigger!

You should never get a dog, unless you are in it for the long haul. Rotties are not for everyone. I have one & he is a lot of work (done with love). Wait until you are older & more responsible, your Mom may be the winner of this one!

taking care of a dog is a big responsability and i know this. i think you need to show how well you can take care of other dogs and show your mother that you won't neglect them as if you would not neglect yourself. that is the best help i can give you.

It's pretty much your fault that you didn't take care of the dog to begin with! That just proved that you can't be responsible and there isn't much that'll help redeem yourself.
