i have very big breasts so find some exercises a challenge. i'm desperate to lose weight to feel better about myself. i rarely eat meat but have a major sweet tooth which is hard to control. i try to eat low fat yogurts to curb this. i also like bread and rice, although i mostly eat brow or wholemeal bread .i do seem to feel hungry most of the time and generally not satisfied. any diets or books or advice anyone would recommend? i would really appreciate your advice. thanks

Personally, I don't believe in diet plans, because they only work while you're on them, and not on a long run.

So, I'll have to tell you the sterotypical answer: healthy diet and excersize.

For food, when having meals, trying opting for things that are steamed/cooked/etc....steer clear of fried foods! That's a big no no. Avoid heavy things that contains excessive amounts of fat, i.e., butter, heavy cream, etc. etc. As for desserts? Oh goodness me, I know where you're coming from; I might have the world's biggest sweet tooth. But in today's society, we have so many options. There are great websites that contain a lot of low fat and healthy meals and dessert options. My two favorites are:

www.cookinglight.com
www.hungry-girl.com

The latter is especially great, because it provides alternatives to classic, rather unhealthy foods that taste just as great, if not better.

Also, it's important that when you're shopping...don't buy things that you know you'll regret eating! Don't be afraid to look for new things to try...my personal favorite: soy products. A Many of these are great alternatives to meals, and the textures are really interesting. But watch out! Not all soy products are healthy, so make sure to read the nutrition labels.

Now. Excersize...

Start out very light. Go for walks, and inrease a little bit everyday. Once you feel like you can push yourself a little more, start running. Believe me, it works. For two years I've been running 2-5 miles a day (I started out with 1/4 a mile and worked my way up with time), and I've been able to drop 20 pounds, and not gain it back, despite my occasional indulgence.

It's hard, I know, but you can do it! Anyone can, with enough determination.

I too have some pounds to lose and it is not easy. The best, healthiest way to lose weight is through changing eating habits and increased activity. Diets can lose weight but usually once you go off the diet the weight comes back.
Some easy changes in eating can help 1) cut out evening eating set a time that will work for your schedule whether its 6,7 or 8pm and do not eat after this time. 2) eat breakfast every morning(this is my killer) it starts your metabolism 3) drink plenty of water When you feel hungry have a glass of water then wait 20Min's if you are still hungry have a small snack.4) Eat slowly this gives your body time to actually feel full so you don't over eat.5)don't deny yourself if you love sweets treat yourself but have a smaller portion. depriving yourself only results in binging
Find exercise that you enjoy it doesn't have to be aerobics or anything . walking, swimming, yard work do things like climb a flight of stairs instead of taking the elevator or park at the end of the parking lot so you have to walk further every little bit helps and if you can throw in some crunches or weight lifting etc Every little bit helps. Most importantly don't get discouraged You didn't gain the extra weight overnight and you won't lose it overnight.
One other thing that really helps is if you have a friend or family member to support you. Good Luck

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

Talk to a professional. Weightwatchers would be a good diet to follow. If you have friends who are wanting to lose weight as well, form a group to help each other out in losing the desired amount of weight. If there's at least 4 of you, you could even form two teams and have your own little "The Biggest Loser" competition. Might be a good way to go. Good luck :)

~Talk to a nutrutionist, they have a ton of advice that is quite helpful.
Will your insurance cover a breast reduction?
As for the sweet tooth, try sugar free hot cocoa to curb it.
Diets aren't good, a change in eating habits is what needs to change.
There is also the Lap-band for weight loss. A lot of insurances cover those too. There is a link added.
Appetite Suppressants only work temporarily.
Good luck~
