I have recently been started on a low dose of glucophage twice a day for inceased blood sugar, I have been taking it with food, however I am starting to have some problems with my stomach similiar to what I experienced a few yrs. ago with an ulcer, especially some mild stomach pain, and wonder if this is common, if this will go away or get worse ,any similiar situations, or suggestions? Thanks very much.

Call your doc and let them know your symptoms. I worked for internal med docs for awhile and this can be common but it's a decision for the doc. They may change you over to something else or tell you to give it a little time. Either way, they need to know if you are experiencing any issues from your meds

yes so my dr suggested I split the pill and work up to the dosage he recommended. After 3 years on it my blood sugar has improved each time he checks me (every six months) so the dosage is slowly being reduced. The only thing I could say tah I truely hate about ti is that I can't lose weight using it. Hope you regain your health.

Same thing happens to my wife. Upset stomach, cramps, and diarrhea. Doesn't get worse, but doesn't get better either. Some foods will aggravate the effect (sweets, milk, ice cream).
