The reason I ask is that my friend and I are arguing, she kissed a guy behind her boyfriends back, which I think classes as being unfaithful, but she disagrees!

All the above answers are so typical of a guy. In your heart you know what is cheating and what isn't. In my opinion cheating is only when you phyically do something or intend too. Talking or innocently flirting is only considered flirting by pople insecure in their relationships.

From a guy's perspective, the following are a few examples of being unfaithful (or suspected to be unfaithful) by the girlfriend.
1. Kissing another guy. It doesn't matter if the guy is a "friend" or not. There are no excuses for kisses. It's like in the movie Pretty Woman - kisses are personal.
2. Hanging out with "friends" on a date night.
3. It's a Saturday night and the girlfriend says "a friend of mine from my past is coming into town to visit".
4. Sleeping with another person.
5. Holding hands, touching, etc. another guy.
6. Flirting can definitely lead to being unfaithful. It's harmless at first but then the other guy takes it wrong and tries to win her heart.
7. Spending a lot of time with her parents on weekends when she usually was not known to do that in the past and there is no real cause or reason why she started.
8. She talks about how funny another guy is or that she noticed a new guy at the office. It's one of those things where there are lots of people at the office but when the new guy starts to work there she notices and mentions it.
9. Jokes about other men but that are suspect to being unfaithful. Jokes are 50% truth and 50% joke. They tell more than they are intended to.
10. If she starts working late at the office unexpectedly or if she starts going to happy hours and not coming home until very late.
11. If she has a guy "friend" who she turns to all the time then most likely that guy is "just a friend for now" but is hoping it will turn into something more later. Seen it a million times.
12. If she accidentally comes home with a hickey on her neck or her clothes are awkward or something like that.
13. If your friends say they see her with other men.
14. If your family tries to warn you that she is not faithful.
There are tons of things.

I think it depends on the situation. Was she kissing the guy with a veiw to seeing him behind her boyfriend's back?
I think you can be unfaithful on both an emotional & physical level.
So anything from sharing deep, personal thoughts to kissing on the lips & beyond, I would consider being unfaithful.
Most people know where the line is, & the consequences if they cross it.

As one U.S president once said every man has been unfaithful if only in his mind. That I feel is acceptable but anything that would cause my partner not to trust me would be out. How would your friend feel if she saw her boyfriend kissing someone, would she trust him and without trust you cant have a good relationship. XX

Bit obvious really...got to be having sex with someone else. Being friendly with another person doesn't make you unfaithful, but it might annoy your girlfriend/wife if she thought the other person was getting more attention than her!

well i don't know really cos unfaithful can mean so Meany things like if you go out with someone and not telling your man that can be classed as unfaithful even if there's nothing in it cos your not telling your partner so to me unfaithful is purely if you are not be strait with your man or woman

Kissing for sure.
But women seem to think that guys they meet want to be their friends. And they will be 'friends' with these guys and refuse to see what every guy knows. That these guys are just playing the friend angle. In a way, not shutting down these guys is cheating too.

For me, i'd consider anything above a friendly hug unfaithful.

the word unfaithful to me is, everthing besides talking! and kissing to me is very intimate! if i found out my boyfriend kissed another girl he would be out my life like a flash! x
