No, I don't think so. I would only leave if my wife asked me to (and she never would).

Normally, the doc would ask the wife if she preferred her husband to stay or leave the room. It is up to the wife what she wants to do. A female nurse will need to be present during this examination. i know that some men can get very jealous at the thought of even a doctor touching his wife in her intimate parts. Maybe this Doc has had a bad experience in the past with an angry jeaous husband but that is not an excuse to dismiss this man from sharing in the entire doctor visit of his unborn child. I would inquire as to what the Doctors reason was for this and let him know that the husband will not leave the room the next time and if this request is not met then they will find a new physician. To answer your question, NO, this is not normal practice but it does not mean that the doctor did anything wrong as long as a nurse was in the room and your wife did not report any extra touching. Each doctor runs his own practice and follows his own rules or conduct and if this does not fulfill your needs as a patient then I would suggest finding a new one.

I don't think so; many married men like being at least some of their wife's prenatal exams. Doctors 'should' like seeing the man so involved, and when I was pregnant every medical person I came across took pains to accommodate my husband accompanying me. Are there other issues such as, was your husband doing things to stress you out? Was he talking too much? Was he being rude to the doctor? Was the exam area too small to accommodate three people? There must have been SOME reason for the doctor to ask the husband to leave because that is NOT normal.

If the doctor senses stress or discomfort from the woman, yes, it's normal. That gives her the choice of having her husband in with her for the exam, and if SHE doesn't step up and say she wants her husband in there, she doesn't and can blame the doctor and not fight with her husband. So maybe you need to be more sensitive.

hi, that is not usual and that i could disagree with some right here that have responded your question. the reason that is not usual hun is by technique of the fact in the previous there has been many court docket situations delivered against docs for misconduct in procedures of sexual touching etc. maximum docs require that a woman nurse be present day whilst examining their affected person. and additionally the husband is authorized to stay they advise that he do. this could properly be a "we"element and the places of work desire to be sure the daddy blanketed in on all visits. the subsequent time that this occurs I advise which you tell your physician (obgyn) which you desire your husband to stay in the room with you. that could have never surpassed off ma'am never! sturdy success and congratulations on the infant!

they never asked my husband to leave. Where I live male doctors have a female nurse come in the room while doing an exam. That saves their butt as well as far as allegations being made.

i don't think so. my Dr. lets my husband stay in the room.
you might want to say something, but also keep in mind that he might have been asked to leave because the Dr. sensed that the wife was uncomfortable.
next time express that you would both like to stay. you might get a better idea of the usual goings-on if you talk to his nurse.

well actually that is just very rude. But considering the facts that a nurse has to be present while any type of examination while your naked , you may have a lawsuit or i would recommend getting a new more caring doctor or just tell him you feelings.
