Wholegrains like brown pasta, brown rice, wholegrain cereal & porrige- slow-release energy
2 portions of fish a week- protein & "good" fats
Limited intake of saturated fats from red meat, cheese, cakes, crisps etc.
As much fruit & veg as you can handle- vitamins& minerals
Lots of fluids: water, tea, fruit juice- not too many fizzy drinks!
Just keep your diet varied & you should be fine, but if you've already lost 40lbs you must be doing something right! Make sure you eat enough & try to eat within 2hours of running to replenish your energy- & drink a litre of liquid for every hour you run

get off the treadmill and run outside. if you run 10 miles a day, you shouldnt be so concerned about what you eat (but eat healthy, and eat a lot of food). unless youre really overweight, you shouldnt be losing that much weight. whoever told you to load up on carbs is a total moron. unless youre going to be running a really long race the next day, dont carbo load.

Eat light before running and don't drink water before running . If you drink water before running you will have a stomach ake . Eat healthy foods like vegetables etc .

don't eat much at all before running. I suggest a bannana, water, and yogurt about an hour before you run, or however long it needs to settle so you don't get an ache or cramp or anything.

There is a good site that I use that helps you track everything.

It is really good if you are into it. Not exactly for the armchair type.

fitnessjournal.com. There are a lot of great features that help you really adjust your performance.
