apartments in Colombia?

Question

id like to know of the prices (in USD possibly) of renting cheap apartmans per month. the best would be somewhere by the sea: Tumaco, Buenaventura, or Cartagena for example, but im also interested in the prices in the heart of the country: Medellín, Bogota etc. also id like to know how much does heating, water, and electricity cost per month... is it always warm there or those it snow/rain/get cold frequently? thx a lot

Colombia is getting expensive especially cartagena because it's a touristy area.

Apartment prices depend on the estrata you want to live in (1-6), 6 being most expensive.

My mom lives in Barranquilla (on the coast), where it is always warm, estrata 4, this is approx how much she pays per month:

$ 50.000 pesos en luz, ($23)
$ 40.000 pesos en agua, ($18)
$6.000 pesos en gas, ($3)
$50.000 pesos en telefono

Apartments in Colombia are not that cheap compared to Malaysian standards but it depends on the area you are looking at. The rents depend on the "estrata" or the social level and the size of the apartment. Heating is not common in Colombia for it is very expensive. All the utilities depend also on the estrata. Bogota is cool, average of 15 degrees C, Medellin is warmer about 20 something C and Cartagena is warm and humid like KL. It does not snow at all. Bogota rains a lot during the months of April/May and October/November. I just got back from Colombia and I lived there for more than 2 years :) Good luck.
