I'm not talking about what people have done in His name, but what did He do that causes your hatred? Was it because He healed the sick, fed the poor, taught to love rather than hate, gave His life for yours? What exactly is it that you hate that Jesus did?

To those of you who are questioning whether it is atheists or someone who actually said they hate Jesus - over Christmas there were many postings from various people using the word 'hate' regarding the person of Jesus - not His followers or those actions done in His name, but Jesus Himself. I was just curious how someone could hate Jesus, whether or not they believed Him to be God.

Christians are the representation of Jesus, people will always base their opinions on the sender by those who are sent.

its unfortunate, but part of human nature.

They hate Jesus because of the poor examples we teach or show of him.

I don't hate Jesus (actually as a non-christian I seem to hold him in higher regard than 99% of the "christian" faith)

My guess is that some people would be so pissed off and frustrated by the rantings and destruction caused by the Christians that they blame Jesus himself for inflicting Christians on the world

I don't hate Jesus. The man that was Jesus has nothing to do with the stories that were made up about him many years after he died. Jesus was a liberal Jew that tried to change the religious structure of his day. I dislike the organized religions that claim to represent Jesus, distort who he really was, and use his image to hold millions of people ignorant of the truth. There is a big, big difference.

There is a difference between hating Jesus and not following or believing in him. A BIG difference. Perhaps you should try to learn that difference.

I don't hate Jesus. I am frequently irritated, however, by his followers who ask why I hate Jesus just because I don't follow him.

I don't think anyone hated Jesus - why would you? - I think they hate the mockery that has been made of his life ever since. He was a man of peace as you say yet Christainity is all about fear, blood, violence and controlling people. You don't agree? Did Jesus write the Bible? Did he build any churches?

I think, if you check, there will be very few people who will say, "I hate Jesus." They may not believe he existed, they may say that most of what he said can be attributed to a number of people who lived in the same era, or they may say he was a good guy, but deluded. None of these equate with hate, which is a strong, irrational emotion.

The term "hate" is overused and has begun to lose its meaning.

I don't know anyone who 'hates' Jesus. They either believe he was a deity and love him, consider him a great prophet, or that he was just a man whose followers wrapped a bunch of myths around.

And no, Jesus didn't give his life for me. Only a godhead could do that and there is no deity, let alone a godhead of such. Keep your blood on your own hands, please. I have no sins needing to be washed away.

Jesus is awesome and I'm happy to follow his lead. I just wish more Christians, who borrow part of his identity, would follow in his footsteps.
