Nice Cuban Sandwiches
Ingredients:
- 1 Cuban bread bun or substitute French bread roll (not a baguette) or a Kaiser roll
- 1 pound roasted pork shredded - boneless center loin is suggested
- 1/2 pound baked ham - a mild and sweet flavored ham
- 1/4 pound Swiss cheese
- 12 dill pickle slices
- 3 tablespoons butter
Cut ham into thin slices
Using a full dill pickle cut into narrow slices or use pre-cut slices
Cut cheese into thin slices
Slice bread bun in half lengthwise or if using a French bread roll, cut lengthwise to make a 6 inch length
Lightly butter inside of each bread slice
On side that is buttered, layer ingredients starting with the pickles, then layering roast pork, ham (1 to 2 slices), with the cheese on top.
Pre-heat sandwich grill or a griddle pan large enough to hold 1 or 2 sandwiches.
Spray cooking oil on grill or pan surfaces
Place sandwich(es) in grill or pan and flatten sandwich by either closing grill lid or if using an open pan, place a meat press, such as a bacon press, over top of sandwich. A heavy object such as a brick wrapped in tin foil is used by some to compress the bread, meat and cheese.
Grill sandwiches 2 to 3 minutes per side, removing when cheese melts and outsides of bread are golden brown.
Slice sandwiches in half and serve

Buy some chicken breast and Italian dressing and any kind of chicken seasoning. Place the chicken in a large zip lock bag. Using a meat mallet, pound the chicken until it's about half an inch in thickness. Then pour enough of the Italian dressing so that all the chicken is covered and then sprinkle some of the seasoning into the bag. After sealing the bag, shake the bag so that evrything get mixed together.Lift the bag so that all ingredients fall to the bottom and fold the bag so the chicken stays bunched up and then refrigerate for about an hour. After an hour your ready to get cooking. The chicken will cook fast and evenly. Enjoy!!!

anything that would be fried in a skillet. They are great for pancakes and eggs etc. They do have special needs to keep them nice. Cast iron does rust and for that reason you need to season them after you wash them. Dry them thoroughly, wipe with a paper towel that has oil or shortenig on it then set over heat or put in oven and let the oil cook onto it for a few minutes.Seems like a pain but, worth it. They heat very evenly and actually put iron into the food that you are cooking
