i don't judge weight by diet charts. i got down to the chart weight once and my family thought i looked awful/sickly. Honey, you be your own judge. It's all about how you feel about yourself. Look at Queen Latifa...(I apologize if i misspelled her name},she's a large gal and I think she looks great. Just be happy with yourself and don't let others tell you how you should look.

The question you should ask yourself is not how much you should weigh, but rather, how much body fat percentage you should have. You see, two people of the exact same height and weight can be completely different in terms of health. At your age, you should have a target body fat percentage somewhere between 18-23%, depending on how firm you want to be. The more physically fit, the less fat. Muscle weighs more than fat, so the more lean muscle mass you put on by eating right and exercise, the less fat you will have but your weight may not change much...and you'll still be more physically fit than someone who weighs less but has more fat.

Girl your just like me, according to the BMI chart we are in the "26" range which is OVERWEIGHT. We are supposed to be around 130 lbs. So I have gone on a diet called the master cleanser, the same one Beyonce used to lose 20 lbs. Today is my first day and it only lasts for 10 days. Basically, its a liquid diet!!! I know it sounds crazy, but it worked for my friend too!!
You drink this concoction of "lemon juice, water, maple syrup and cayanne pepper" about 6-12 glasses each day. And you will lose about 20 lbs in a 2 weeks.

I'm 5'3" and used to weigh about that much. The books and websites I went to always told me I had to go down as much as 40 pounds to be average but I'd say that would probably make you almost too thin...(sorry folks, not a model here- just like to eat and be healthy!) If you exercised and reduced your daily calorie intake, dropping 25 pounds would probably be to your benefit. But do it slowly- the "quickie" diets never work for very long.

Kind of late for asking this question... Anyway, you should lose at least 40 lbs. To look awesome you should weigh around 115 lbs. To look OK, your weight should be around 125 lbs. 130 lbs it's, well, acceptable.

Many times people refer to 'charts' to tell them how much you ought to weigh. Charts are often 'one size fits all' and don't take many things into consideration, like genetics.
Do people in your family tend to be 'big boned'?
Do you work out with weights or tend to carry more muscle than your average person?
The question you really need to ask yourself is: Do I feel fit?
Then go to any good health club and consult someone about your body fat to body mass ratios.
Once you do that, find out what is good (and healthy) for YOU and stick to your guns. Don't let anyone tell you that you 'need to lose a few here or there'.
