If you don't get much acne, then you probably shouldn't use something harsh like Proactiv, which is meant for people with moderate to severe acne. I like Burt's Bees products sold at my local drugstore and also at www.burtsbees.com (they have a store locator on the site, btw) Burt's Bees products have helped my skin a lot, which is weird because nothing has ever worked for me in the past, even Proactiv. I especially like the Lemon and Poppyseed cleanser and the Soap Bark and Chamomile cleanser. If I were you, I would use a cleanser meant for normal skin, a toner for normal skin, a good moisturizer, a spot treatment for acne, and I would also get and use a microdermabrasion kit as directed (Neutrogena makes one for about $20, might sound like a lot, but it pays off though) for your rough patches.

I have rosacea, which sounds similar to your description, I use Cetaphil cleanser, recommended by my doctor. As a moisterizer, u can use a thin layer of vitamin E.
Or Cetaphil moisterizer but I can't use moisterizers on my face so I use the vit. E. You can get Cetaphil at the drug store, the big bottle costs about $15 dollars but you can get a smaller one for about 7 or 8 dollars

I use clearasil wash and that was very good, but a little expensive. Burts Bees makes a face soap bar that I have used in the past. Also Clinique makes good cleansers.

I used proactive and it worked for me so I don't know what you could try. Have you tried clearasil? Try using a cleanser, then an astrigent then don't forget the moisturizer. Good luck I was in your shoes when I was a teen♥

I've always used "Good Old Fashioned" soap and water, and I had a bad complexion, in my younger years... for lotions, I have faithfully used Jergens, for years and years!! I swear by them both!! But , everyone's skin is different, maybe you should see a "Dermatologist" you know.. Good-Luck, to you, and Here's wishing you & yours "A very Happy, Healthy, Prosperous & Peaceful New Year!!!" Smile, things will get better!
