When someone has hurt you, have you ever felt like doing something to get back at them. I mean, I know two wrongs don't make it right, but sometimes doesn't it make you feel better to know that you've hurt them in some kind of way or taken away something that was important to them. Be honest, if so, what did you do?

I have felt that way a couple of times in my life and fantasized about getting back at the person. But in real life I haven't done anything bad and I feel great about it after a while because it makes me "better" than the other person...

It's never good to "get even" with someone who has hurt you. Though I must say I am guilty of it, you really shouldn't I believe in karma to the very last drop. I know that if someone does something bad, it will come back to them three times as bad and you should just let that happen. It is very hard to not do something to someone when they've done wrong to you, but I felt even better when I didn't! And because of that, I've become a better person, a person that people see as mature and not a game player. I've gotten more respect that way and that's better than nothing. Remember, when something bad happens to you and you learn from it then keep moving, karma will bring something good to you. You don't ever go on with something bad without getting something good in return, big or small. So again, I don't think its a good idea to get back at them, and remember if you do, it will come right back to you. End the cycle at his wrong doing, he will suffer for it.

I know we all feel that way sometimes. There are ways to get back at people, without hurting them or doing anything illegal. I don't recommend it, might make you feel better at the time, but in the long run you lose out. Just do all you can to forget about the situation, I believe in Carma - what goes around comes around. One day that person will cross over the wrong person and they'll have to watch out...

my ex cheated on me. I was so hurt. We were together for almost 5 years and we have a child together. He was very sorry and even though I was crushed I couldn't make him leave because I couldn't be without him. One night when i was feeling particularly bitter I slept with a guy friend of mine. My ex found out and he moved out. I did it to get back at him and it felt good at the time. But it really hurt him and even though he did it to me I felt bad for being so childish. In the end it worked out, we are better off seperated. Just think about it before you try to get revenge.

here was my situation: my bf and i broke up and after a couple of weeks i learned he and my other friend are a couple already. i know its should be ok coz weve broken up but i cant help it, i felt so betrayed.
and im not being modest when i say im generally a good girl. but i think its a natural primitive reaction, like self-preservation. i tried my best to keep it light but ive snapped and burdened them with mood swings =P eventually, i just removed them out of my life.

well, just let it loose. its not good to keep the emotions in. just try not to be too mean!

It can also make you look a bit pathetic. That you can't let go of a relationship that had alot less meaning to him.

The very best revenge is if some day he sees you are having a terrific life, that he is not a part of.

Yes, revenge makes sense to humans... if you don't believe in it.. you're NOT human.. it's a person's way of feeling justice. if someone can harm you in ANY way and they can get away with it. then there is no justice in the world.. and thus.. people tend to bring justice on their own by punishing that person with "revenge" :)
