This happens to me all of the time and I don't know if it is a direct result of my bad memory or that the people who do this have no idea what they are talking about. There have been plenty of instances where friends, family, etc have told me that I had been places or said things that I do not recall and am almost absolutely certain I was not a part of or said. It drives me nut because there is no way to prove it but just the same, the people who usually accuse me of these things can't really prove it either so it's kind of a frustrating lose-lose situation...lol...

They may can convince your mind by causing your mind to be confused (play mind-games), but they can't convince your heart of it, when you KNOW (when your heart is convinced) you didn't say it.
You can prove (convince them) you're right, by being determined to stick to what you said (the real way it was).
Don't let them overpower you, don't let them have the last say about it.
They'll eventually accept the truth and back off, if you keep on sticking to your words.
Don't let them make your words into something else (something different than what your words truly are).

I think that time will prove that you were right. Don't worry about it, you know whats the truth and if no one wants to believe you than so be it.

sure that can happen. People try to do that to me all the time, but that's because I'm an alkie. My brother tried to tell me I put the kids to bed without feeding them one time. But he forgot to take the pizza box out of the trash before he left....oops

But people have done that my whole life. Some people are just strange or always like to be right.

Yes, I hate it. I have had it happen to me, and I swear it has made me feel like I am nuts if I can't even remember what I said!!! Whether it is something big or not.

No, no one could convince me if I had not said it.....what I hate worse is people who try to f--k with your head by saying you said or did something you didn't

hmm a very good and tricky question.

no i don't see the need to hate it. the person who claimed that you said what you didn't, then he/she must be making a mistake. so long as your conscience is clear or you're firm with what you had/hadn't done, then let the truth resolve on its own. you can never hide a truth.

No! Sometimes my kid will tell me I said something that I know I didn't and never would. On the other hand, I do the same thing to my mom!

They are trying to make you feel bad for something they did that most likely was wrong. I had an ex-boyfriend that used to do this all the time to me, to take the focus off of him, he was a cheater...

Nope! If you didn't say something you know it and nobody can convince you for the opposite!! Just ignore him!
