Creationist cannot. They formulate all kinds of excuses to explain it all away. And those excuses are really far-fetched. What experts they can get on their side to dismember any evolutionary progress can always be countered.

There are many levels of creationism. Only a few believe in the 6000 year old earth. I believe some claim that the fossil record was created as a test of faith. Others say that the layers were due to other factors like flooding, earthquake, and vulcanism. And radioactive decay is misleading because it assumes that the decay rate has always been as it is now. But we have no proof of this assumption.

6000 years would be a closer suggestion. The layers are generally explained through catastrophic events. This is a good reason why simplest forms would be lower and more advanced forms would be higher (they would have an ability to survive). No date has ever been proved, only assumed. The sciences of evolution and creationism are historical sciences. They can't be empirically tested. They are both valid sciences, they look at the same data and interpret it differently. You cannot prove or disprove a historical science, only try to recreate it to the best of the ability of the researcher, but this is far reaching, considering the elements of the earth were not known then. As for the layers, a rapid, worldwide flood accounts for the laying down of layers of sediment. Since you can't actually disprove either of the scientific interpretations, the only option left is to attack the framework, which is what you are trying to do.

It's more like 6,000 years. Dr. Gerald Schroeder has given some fascinating lectures on this topic, and concludes that the fossil record (carbon dating) and the Bible are not in conflict. He expounds upon the principles of Einstein's theory of Relativity to explain. He is a brilliant man, a physicist and a professor at MIT. He has written a book, entitled, "The Hidden Face Of God." It is worth checking into if you enjoy studying these kinds of things. If you would like to check out a half-hour long program featuring Dr. Schroeder, here is a link to an archived broadcast:

The fossils were not laid down slowly but in the global flood.
Think about it - to fossilise a small fish - let alone a dinosaur - you do not bury it slowly, a millimetre at a time. It would get eaten or rot away. The fact that fossills exist at all is evidence that the creatures were buried quickly.
if you're really interested to find out more check out a site like http://www.answersingenesis.org
A huge amount of information here - varying from theological to fairly technical science articles.
It is not true that there are layers of fossils going from simple to complex. Complex creatures are found in the lowest rocks.

As for dating - ancient rocks are dated more by assumptions than science. Circular reasoning is often used: Assuming millions of years of evolution, the rocks are used to date fossils, and the fossils are used to date rocks.
Check out this for radiometric dating:

The observed evidence is much better explained by the creation and global flood than evolutionary fairy stories.

Only ignorant, backwoods preachers believe that the earth is only 5000 years old. The age of the earth is irrelevant. The devil loves it when people get hung up on such non-sense topics. They have nothing to do with God's plan for humankind. the Gospel of Jesus Christ is what is important and this is what the devil does NOT want Christians to concentrate on. The debate over the age of the earth never saved anyone or ever sent anyone to hell, but the Gospel is a different story. a persons attitude toward Jesus is the deciding factor over which direction a person will head upon physical death---up or down.

The earth is about 10,000 years old. They used carbon dating on a live mollusk; according to it the mollusk had been dead for 1000's of years. For more check out this links:http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0055/0055_01.asp

Also there are three theories of evolution, each one proves the other two impossible. Also if evolution were true why don't we see half man half monkeys still evolving?
If everything came together by chance that would be like saying I could take apart my cell phone put it in the dryer and in a couple of billion years by chance it would assemble itself. I think It takes more faith to believe the other theories over creationism.

we are no 'disproving' that fossils are there. FACT...you can ONLY tell the age by looking at WRITTEN records. Carbon dating is not 100% accurate it has to be backed up by written records of time.
I believe in the fossil records...I just can't beleive they are as old as people think that they are.

First of all evolutionist readily admit they have circular reasoning when it coms to dating fossils. Evolutionism rests heavily on interpreting the fossil record as showing a chronological procession of primitive to more advanced life-forms, but this interpretation is bogus because it is based on circular reasoning designed to fit a pre-determined theory rather than the objective facts. The theory of evolution, rests not on a foundation of stone but of shifting sand. I am going to add a quote from an evolutionist which is long, but needs to be seen it's entrety to understand how they actually date fossils and what the flaw is.
In his book The Age of Reptiles (New York: W. W. North & Co., 1965), he makes a surprisingly frank admission that the evolutionary method of dating goes in circles.
The sedimentary rocks which enclose fossils in such variety are found all over the world as sheets of limestone, shale and sandstone of diverse extent and thickness. Originally these were, of course, deposited as horizontal or nearly horizontal beds, by the waters of oceans and lakes, by river and stream currents, by wind, and even by glaciers. During the long history of the earth such sheets of sediments, eventually hardened into layers of rock, are commonly tilted, broken and distorted by immense earth forces — the forces that are usually manifested to us as earthquakes. Moreover, sedimentary rocks are frequently cut by volcanoes and long dikes of volcanic rock that push through them from below. Many sedimentary rocks are removed from the area which they formerly occupied by erosion. Consequently the interpretation of the sediments in which the fossils are contained is a complex and exacting discipline. But such interpretation is of importance if the sequence of the fossils and the consequent evolutionary conclusions as based on this sequence are to be correctly understood. This is the study of stratigraphy, and it involves the correlation of sediments in different parts of a continent and in different parts of the world. Correlation depends primarily upon the restriction of particular fossils to particular sediments. The occurrence of similar or closely related fossils in sediments at two separated localities generally implies a similar or nearly similar age for the beds. By comparing back and forth, by making allowances for distortions of beds or the absence of beds and so on, the stratigrapher builds up a comprehensive picture of the succession of sediments the world over, and the succession of life contained within these sediments.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID IS, IN A WAY, CIRCULAR REASONING. The ages of sediments are determined by the fossils they contain. The evolutionary sequence of life as revealed by the fossils is determined by the succession of these fossils in the sediments. (pp. 29-30) [emphasis added]
It uses the fossils to date the rock layers, and the rock layers to date the fossils.
Interestingly enough Evolutionist don't mind ignoring this fact.

Here, let me help you. First, radical creationist, which are a distinct minority, will say the world is 10000 years old. And, the fossils were places there for us to find by God!!!!
