That is the precise reason why their is so many different religions. Factions will leave off the core and start their own because they may not believe what the core is doing.

This is the same way people act.. if you notice in school or in the work place.. their are separate groups of people. Usually joined by common interests or styles of life.

As for religion is not always an exact science (so to speak) many will have a different opinion on what the good book will say on a particular issue.

Good Luck

Of course. Jesus founded Christianity less than 2000 years ago. Mohamed founded Islam about 600 years later and enjoyed enormous success with lots and lots of Christians converting and others joining. Islam has also had tremendous ongoing success and is now by far the single biggest religion with approx 1.5 billion followers world wide. Perhaps the longest surviving religion is Judaism founded, I believe, by Abraham over 7000 years ago. Judaism has been in sharp decline and currently may have as few as 10 million followers.

Of course any one can start a religion. It's getting the followers and believers that is difficult.

Example: Scientology. It was created on a bet by 3 drunken authors. The bet was...who could do it and Hubbard did.

No. Government, like it or not, as power over its citizens no matter what kind of organization you try to hide behind. Government makes the laws and government changes the laws. Fortunately in our type of society we can change the people who run the government. If they refuse to leave, then we just shoot them like was done in the old days.

Yes, but religions are founded on personal beliefs, not to sc**w the govt. Quit trying to scam your way through life and get a job.

Let's do it. Answerism. Yea, I go to the Church of Answers. We basically sit around getting high and ask philosophical questions. We're kind of like Masons, but, you know, we get high. People ask me what my religion is, and I tell them, "I'm an Answerer". Of course, they then ask me all these questions, but the only answer I can give them is, "Join my Church and find out." This will lead them to our church (founded on drugs) and they will have to smoke with us their first visit and boggle our minds. Only then will we accept them into the First Church of Answers.

Yup. If you get enough people to send money you can escape to another place maybe even another time. Nirvana. Utopia. Heaven. I hear they are all nice.
