When anger cannot be deflammated then a new form arises in the form of hatred and then this hatred forms a devils mind to Revenge.
Revenge is a form of grudge ,hatred, anger, misunderstandings, lack of communications etc
Revenge enacts when the mind doesn't let go of the past and keeps holding on to it,
Yes it could be Immaturity from that person enacting to take Revenge because they lack knowledge and they are not ready to accept the actual consequences.
Revenge is only destruction and leads to further tension and unhappiness.

I don't know if it is childish or not but it is self destructive and not really as satisfying as people think. I have known people who sought revenge for acts committed by their spouse (two of them). Rather than growing, moving on and getting their life back together both of them stayed mired in their pain and tried to get revenge. Revenge came (with little effect on their former wives) and they found themselves still in the same place with the same hurt feelings.

Yes, I think trying to institute any kind of revenge is childish. It takes a very mature person to walk away and let the chips fall where they may.

Yes; the results are uncertain and often disappointing. It's an enormous waste of energy and proves just how much power someone has over you. You hurt yourself more that you'll ever hurt them.

The best "revenge" is living your best possible life.

Of course it is. Taking revenge doesn't take away whatever it was that a person did to you to hurt or anger you. What it "does" do, is show that person that you are just as immature as "them."
