♥ That sucks that your hair won't curl because by the way you describe your hair it seems that you would look gorgeous with your hair curled. Maybe you should straightned you hair first and then try to curl your hair. Or maybe get one of those brushes that makes you hair straight. Hope your hair curls.

Here are two ways that may help. First wash and dry hair, (always use some form of hair styling product) then spray your hair with hair spray and style with hot rollers or curling irons, let the hair cool compeltely before trying to style (use your fingers for styling). Spraying your hair will gives the curl something to hold on to. Second, just try curling your hair without washing it. Clean hair gives nothing for the curl to hold on to. Think about it: Whenever you go to a salon for a updo you are told you NOT to wash your hair.

If your hair is too long, it may not curl properly simply because the het of the rollers may not penetrate the ends. Long layers will help here.
Additionally, after washing your hair make sure you use enough product in it. Some gel works for me (but I have thinner hair) and helps my hair hold curl - might also work in your case.
Don't try to curl your hair when the temperature and humidity are not optimal. If I want to wear my hair curly, I never do it on rainy days or humid summer days...which means I usually curl only in the winter lol.
Additionally, if you hace not tried them, some company made steam rollers for hair, I had some at one point and they produced fabulous curls! Might be best with your long hair!

I wouldn't do this too often but when they curl hair in salons for updos and other styling they mouse the entire head, spray it, and then spray each lock while it is on the iron to hold each curl and for longer hair they spray each lock ...then curl. Then top the styled hair off with finishing spray.

your only real way to do it is a curling iron, so what yu should do is get more than one iron of all different sizes, conair makes cheap but good ones, shoot for ceramic. the trick is to spray your hair with hairspray first on each section before you curl it, if you hear a sizzle whne you curl, it's okay, it's just the moisture in the spray.

straightners - straighten your hair and then, hold the iron at the top of your head as if your about 2 straighten it again, then, twist and pull tautly, it usually works for me, use a little shine serum or frizz-ease serum if you need 2...hope that helps..
