I would suggest using red charolette roses. mixed with other colors like greens, purples, yellow, etc. The red charolette roses are a pretty deep red that seems to blend well with lots of other reds, plus if you mix other colors in with it, it will very easily detract form any slight color differences.
I worked at a florist for 2 years and your color is very popular and this is a nice alternave to having yet another cliche red and white wedding. for the other flowers I would suggest lime green buttons, yellow mini gerberas or calla lillies and purple status (its a filler)
it would also be really pretty to do just red and purple, or red, purple and lime green (which we used in lots of arrangements) , or red, purple, and yellow (we actually did this color combo for a wedding it was GEORGEOUS!).
the variety of color would make it work for almost any time of year. It would be very vibrant and eye catching and like I said, a nice change of pace from a predictable red and white wedding-which are a dime a dozen! hope this helps! good luck and congrats!

what about simple white lillies or a creamy yellow flower of some sort. I think the contrast of you in a white dress with a red boquet and your bridesmaids in red with white boquets would be stunning. Maybe pick a flower for them that is not a traditional wedding flower such as a gerbera daisy or a white iris, something simple and small that way your flowers will still really stand out.

We're having apple red as our color too (yeah david's bridal!). I'm doing calla lillies, some fun funky twirly greenery, mini bright red roses (only a few here and there, so as to not over kill it) and I found this great beaded wire that I'm going to have springing out of the bouquet for sparkle. I'm sticking with red only in the bouquets, as I'm not having any other colors than red and ivory. I chose to go fun and trendy with a bit of simplicity, it all mixes together brilliantly in an upbeat classy sort of way.

Listen I am a guy I need two points, but I will answer your question openly. I think a combination of white, red, and yellow might look good with a touch of blue. Red is a very intimidating and powerful colour. It is difficult to work with.

I purely had a marriage in October and the girls have been in crimson dresses. The maid of honor carried a mixture of roses (reds, oranges and creams) and dahlias, and the different bridesmaid carried all dahlias. They regarded large! Dahlias are available a great selection of colorings, yet i think of the purples and yellows somewhat stood out.

You could always do a simple bouquet of red roses for your bouquet and have your girls carry white - simple and elegant!

Mix of whites reds and pinks.
I also like the idea of you carrying red and the BM's carrying white.
