James Brown did do some pretty rough things. Some of them led him into jail. So, it's a difficult call to make. I think he should be remembered as an amazing musical genius who made a significant impact on music. But, children who look up to James Brown should also be told, by their parents, about his other side too so they are aware that while he was a great person and musician he did make some major mistakes that they should not try and follow.

James Brown was an imperfect human, to be sure. He messed up some.
His contribution to music, however, is eternal. 100 years from now, 1000 years from now, music historians will still look at the days when James Brown began to introduce "soul" as a music art form. He was amazing to see in person, and the footage of his work on-stage is still amazing to watch. I will miss his energy.

Nope, he's the godfather and his musical contributions outwiegh contributions he may have not made to the IRS. Plus, he was in a Rocky movie, so he'll live on forever there too!

He should be remembered for what he did in the music world because that is what made him famous. His private life should remain what it is private. We all have skeletons in our closets or have had bad situations to occur. His was just brought to the forefront because of celebrity status.

We all shoukd imagine what if it was us?

I think it would be nice to show his life the way it was. Not just the good, not just the bad. I know he has had some bad moments, but in context of his whole life I think it will show him as a great man.

They are planning to make a movie, it's supposed to be out in 2008.

I think a movie would be best. I believe it's already in the works; aside from that something great to memorialize his legacy.
