It is legal to date anyone. Sexual activity may be another story.
I am being a parent here so please understand my concern. If you and your beau are sexual active make sure you use some kind of protection. Condoms and contraceptive foam, if used properly are very effective and can save a world of legal problems should anything happen.
Above all talk to your parents, especially your mom if you are sexually active. Yes she may be disappointed, but there is no reason to put your relationship at risk. Some states, no matter if the sex is consensual, see a minor having sex with a legal adult as statory rape in each and every case and I am pretty sure Ohio is that way.
Be careful and enjoy your life with him.

Dating isn't really regulated by police. Yeah the family may put an end to if but if they haven't for the 2 years not likely to use this as some way to stop. Sex IS illegal though. Always is when one is 18 and the other is a minor. It is just a matter of it will be reported or not. Simple case is they could get it on Statory Rape, although not sure by age and could say you are age of consent, not sure what it is in Ohio, but in the least it would be Corruption of Minors. Honestly I have seen in the paper where one was like 18 and the other was 16 and they still got them on Corruption of Minors. Although this is PA and 16 is the age of consent.

Contrary to popular belief, 18 is not the magic number. For example, in Missouri, statutory rape is someone over 21 with someone under 17. So you would be very legal. Search for the statutory rape laws for Ohio to find out the ages, but I'd imagine it is something similar to Missouri.
Besides, you can always DATE someone, the only thing that is really illegal is when you have sex with a minor.
In Ohio, the age of consent is 16, so you are legal. The people above who said anyone over 18 with anyone under 18 is illegal are WRONG.

If you have parental consent, if that's a family requirement, it doesn't matter how long you DATE in any state. Marriage is a different "dog". If y'all plan to marry eventually, I would wait a little while for you both. There should then be no problem regardless where you marry regarding age. The older you are, the more sure you are USUALLY of what you want and need in life.

18's not a magical number. Most states have a 2-3 year "rule." Meaning that you would be most likely okay. In fact, in many states the age of consent is 16, meaning that you are legal age to give consent with an adult. Also if it was illegal, you would have to report it, in order to get in trouble. I doubt you would do that?

There are no laws in any state regarding dating. There are laws regarding sexual contact (not limited merely to intercourse), but they are two different things. However, as a minor (under 18) your parents get to decide who you are and aren’t allowed to spend time with. If they say it’s okay for you two to DATE, then you can.

many of the different solutions are bunk as they seem in accordance with what Hollywood says concerning the age of consent stuff. Age of consent regulations are set by employing individual states. what's criminal in a single state will possibly no longer unavoidably be criminal in the subsequent. maximum states have what are referred to as Romeo and Juliet regulations which enable 2 human beings close adequate in age to be exempt from age of consent regulations. yet no longer all states have them. some states have age of consent regulations set at sixteen or 17 years old. yet no longer all states. as an occasion, in case you reside in California (who has the strictest age of consent regulations), you could have been breaking the regulation the finished time because it incredibly is unlawful to have intercourse with all and sundry under 18, inspite of your age. examine your state and notice what your own state regulation says. ignore approximately all and sundry who's reported something diverse.

Yes you may date all you want. The legal age of consensual sex is also 16, so if you are sexually active, this is also still legal. Please be careful with your decisions at such a young age. Protect yourselves from disease and unwanted pregnancy.

yes it's still legal...You are only 2 years apart and I think in most states that trumps the age thing...Just don't get mad at him later and use that against him! I'm sure you wont if you love him...Good luck!
