I am thinking about flying to California. Do I need a passport to fly and how much do they cost ? How long does it take to get one ? What do I need to provide to get one if I do need a passport ? What would be the price to fly to California both ways ?

You don't need a passport, but to get one takes about 6-8 weeks and costs around $90. In order to obtain a passport, you fill out a form; I don't recall what information the form requires. As for flying round trip to California, it depends on where you're flying from and when. For the best deal, I would check Expedia, Orbitz, or Travelocity.

You only need a passport when your are leaving the U.S. It would cost you about $70-$100 depending on how fast you want it back. Normally takes 4-8 Weeks once you get it ordered. All you need is your birth certificate, a passport photo, and all the paperwork filled out (which you can pick up at the passport office).

if you stay within the US no...if for some reason you need to make a layover in canada, I beleive the answer is now yes. If you are thinking about doing it you should have pleanty of time to get one. I would HIGHLY suggest having one period. Younever know when a great trip will come up at the last minute that you WILL need a passport....google passport and go to the government site....they have all the instructions and the form you can print. I personally have always mailed mine back certified even tho the government only uses regular mail. Also when you get it, scan it into your email acccount. That way if you lose it on a trip, you can get a copy off your email to print to help speed things up.

No, you only need a passport to leave the country. (But you do need a picture ID when flying domestically and a passport would work for that) A passport costs about $60 and takes about two months to get. You can print an application at the link below. You need two headshot photos. Round-trip fares to California, try travelocity.com or orbitz.com

Yes, you will need a passport if you are coming into the United States of America.

Starting January 2007, it will be mandatory for all people to have a passport if they are coming or going from the United States.

The basic cost for an adult is $97.00, US Dollars. If you want a rush process it will cost you more. Once you get a passport you can use it to travel from one state to another.

I would suggest that you apply now for your passport. It takes on the average from six to eight weeks. I had a passport and I changed my name. It took two months for me to get my new passport back. They returned the old passport and the new passport back to me.

NO

Flying within the US does not require a passport .. as least not yet. You will need govt issued ID though. A drivers license will do.

Some people have predicted that if we get hit with another terror attack on US soil we will need passports to fly anywhere.

Once you are in America, you can fly anywhere without a passport.

If you are a foreign national, I would keep your passport with you, in case it is needed.

It depends on where you are flying from as to how much it Will cost.
