Virgin or youthful maiden is in fact a similar ingredient. A maiden is an single lady. Who decrease back then could have been a virgin. There are one hundred's of prophecies pointing to the Messiah. Jesus is the only one to fulfill all of them.

What a great prophecy, and written approx 750 years prior to Christ's birth. The only other occurrence in scripture which mentions Immanuel as a name-title is in Matthew 1:23, which is applied to Christ the Messiah. The Dead Sea Scrolls which were discovered in 1947 list parts of Isaiah's scrolls which were copied about 200 years prior to Messiah's birth. Comparing the Bible verses in all major translations of today with those scrolls, shows how accurate they are.

Happy New Year.

And did you know that this prophecy came at least a century BEFORE Zarathustra proclaimed Zoroastrianism in the Persian Empire where the Jews were exhiled? Who stole from whom? Mithra...yes, also AFTER the Isaiah prophecy.

Also, though the original Hebrew word translates "young girl", in those times the word was synonymous with "virgin"...much like if one was to say "a grade-schooler", one would "assume" she was a virgin.

Edit:
Must make sure people realize that the Isaiah prophecy was earlier than Zarathustra's plagiarism from the Jews that were populating his nation.

Isaiah chapter 53 prophesies the coming of the Gospel. Read this and then read 1 Corinthians 15:1-8 for the Gospel message, and then read Romans chapter 8 for the glorification of the Gospel. These three readings will give you a good foundation in the Gospel.

Right it also indicates in Genesis the very first propecy that God will put emity between the woman and the snake, therfore propecying the birth of Jesus, which was fullfilled in Matthew when Jesus was Born.

Also Genesis 3:15. The seed of the woman would crush the snakes head.

Jesus (seed of the woman, without sin nature) came to destroy the works of the devil. Jesus overcame the devils temptations and didn't sin.

Therefore He Is the sinless Lamb of God and Resurrection.

Amen to that. But the first prophecy is in Genesis 3:15. Look it up and see what the prophecy says. There are also several other prophecies in Isaiah about the birth and death of Jesus.

The original translation read "a young woman/maiden". The Hebrew word used did not mean "virgin"... that word was usually reserved to describe a male.

Once again, I am not surprised, this 'prophecy' is incredibly vague. It is impossible for a virgin to have a baby... we know this now. (ignoring the mistranslation)

As it turns out, there wasn't any baby born named Immanuel.

Try again.

Yes. this is why many people believe the bible to be accurate, even if they dont believe Jesus to be the messiah (which he is)

But not only Jesus, many other things were prophicied , (also other things about jesus).
Though the isrealites took all of them out of context, thinking Jesus would be a great ruler, there to set them free from the oppression of rome...when he was actually there to set them free fro mthe oppression of sin. and Revalation is one big prophecy. Its rather scary actually, to think that we are so close to that. if you look hard and understand....we are far to close. i'd say all that will come true in about 2-3 lifetimes. scary.

but...dont take my word for it..look in the bible.
