1st day:
Visit Grand Palace, Wat Arun and Wat Pho, finish your day walking along Khaosan Road and have a dinner there (may be Tom yam goong Thai restaurant or some Japanese resturant). Try out Pad Thai or Seafood!!

2nd day:
Visit Jim Thompson's house, the Thai old house which was belonged to Jim Thompson, the former CIA. You can have some coffee break here and buy some silk souvenirs with perfect quality (that came with high price). End this day with romantic dinner cruise along ChaoPraya River or luxuary dinner at Sirocco, Silom road (your girlfriend may need some romantic time in Bangkok ;) ).

3rd day:
Shopping at MBK, Siam square, Siam Paragon, Platinum or Jatujak Weekend market. (Oh!! Bangkok is a paradise for shopping)

Hope U have a happy New year and beautiful time in Bangkok.

Bangkok is the best place to shop. Try 'Siam Square'!! There're a lot of malls around the area. Apart from shopping, palaces and temples are recommended. The temple of the Emerald Buddha and the temple of Dawn are must-see places. Also, Bangkok's Dusit zoo is an intersting choice. It is located in central Bangkok surrounded by the palaces and the parliament.

Hmmmm farshadowman makes me nervous. The proper ending for a man is ครับ or khrap, without much practice it will sound more like cup to you though. Khrap is just and ending for polite conversation that a man would use, a woman will use ค่ะ or kha. As a side note most thai won't return this gesture to inferior classes, such as entering a hotel and the staff greet you with a huge สวัสดีค่ะ or "sawatdee kha" a thai will usually only nod their head in acknowledgment.

Anywho, things to see and do in The City of Angels, also know as Krungthep, or formally

You will surely want to see The Grand palace and the temple of the emerald Buddha(Wat Phra Kaw). The laying Buddha at Wat Pho is very nice to see, as is Wat Arun, all relatively close. Chatuchak market if you're there on a weekend will make you dizzy. Khao San road is a pretty good stop, backpackers heaven, but great for everyone to see.

There are lots of other "touristy" things to do such as the Dream World, Ocean world, Enchanted Kingdom, Jim Thompson's House.... yada yada..... It's all up to what you like and what your budget is. I say go there, keep an open mind, open heart, your hands to yourself, and you'll have a great time.

visit http://www.visualthailand.com and see recent photos of all these things to do everyone else is recommending. You can see with your own eyes, then have an accurate idea what you want to do when you get here.

I recommend:

Chaya Praya River Cruise from Yok Yor Marina (inexpensive compared to farang cruise but same great experience

Baiyoke Sky Tower, if do go up there at night and see all of Bangkok you will know why I chose this one

Grand Palace, Wat Po, Wat Arun must see

Ratchidapisek at night where the Zeeds, Bali, Hollywood, Dance Fever and Motown Discos are all in the same parking lot. If you want to experience it try Bali.

Oceanworld in the bottom of the Siam Paragon Mall is worth seeing and only takes about an hour

If you can get out to Nakork Nayok and see some of the Waterfalls there

There are so many, many things to do but one thing I cannot recommend is coming to Thailand and shopping in the malls. It is the same name brand, high priced stuff you will find in any mall in the world.

Save your time to see all things Thai

My company is offering a package tour Sightseeing Bangkok and Around? You probably do like this; Day I - City Tour, Day II - Ayuddhaya World Heritage by cruise and coach back to BKK and DAY III, enjoy shopping or Canal Tour to Temple of Dawn... reserve sometime for relax tilll time to Airport. Since I just see your questions in short notice. Given holiday seasons so I cannot offer a greeting service & airport transfer upon arrival. Next time, let me know in advance. Been there 7 times. If you want to shop, the best mall is MBK Center. 7 or so stories with alott to see. Oh and merchandise too....hehehe If you are in BKK on a weekend, the best place to shop is JJ market. Its a large outside market. Just mention that to the taxi driver and he will know. There is mega stuff at this place and good prices and lots of food too. Awsome experience!! Actually, 3 days isnt nearly enough time to make that flight worth it.

Pat Pong Market, The Floating spice market, the Royal Palace, Temples, large Buddha.
You will probably get a tuk tuk driver come to you and offer you a REALLY cheap tour around Bangkok. They will ask you to visit stores where they get back tokens for petrol / gas for the tuk tuk. Its not worth it.

Golden Temple is a must, floating spice market definitely (you must barter). Just walk the streets, it's fabulous. On the first day, find a tailor and agree a price - give him a favourite shirt or skirt or suit and decide the fabric. You should have a good copy on the next day for a good price but you must agree beforehand.
Have fun!
