Jesus said that blasphemy of all sorts against man or even Jesus is forgiven among mankind, but blasphemy of the Holy Spirit (calling the Holy Spirit evil) isn't forgiven in this age nor in the age to come.
Also, there is freedom of religion and of the press in our constitution. And to freely assemble in peace. But there isn't freedom to take away other peoples freedoms. So to make threats, etc. (stealing others security, terrorize, etc.) is unconstitutional.

Everything has limits, including freedom of expression. There are just things that shouldn't be said because they are mean or will anger others. Now, you expressions about Christians and Jews, no matter what they are, can sound appropriate if you make your comment into the form of a rhetorical question. That way, instead of getting into an argument (which has happened to me numerous times) it can turn into an intriguing religious conversation. It's almost like a game. Do some more resaerch on the religions so that you can also see from their perspective as well as yours. Read cloesly because most people base things like Christianity off of watching how Christians act. But remember hat humans can corrupt a good thing. Good luck in participating in your freedoms!

You can insult Christ, he's not going to sue you for defamation or anything. Insulting Christians and Jews is extremely rude, but having the freedom to do so is indeed an element of free expression. Of course just because you're allowed to do something doesn't mean you should. I would advise you to attack the element(s) of their religion you disagree with rather than the people themselves.

Freedom of expression is a right & privelage. Not everyone in this world has that freedom. But, with freedom comes responsibility. It is wrong to yell fire in a crowded theatre, you can say it, but it will cause chaos, harm, maybe even death. Are you willing to live with the consquences of your words? Words are very powerful, and can not be taken back, once they are out there. One does have the freedom to express their views, even insulting my God & Christ. Let not your words be bitter & used for evil,it pollutes your own heart. You are responsible for your words, not theirs.

What, you've never seen South Park? Saturday Night Live (such as "the Church Lady")!
It's the American way. There's not a COMIC alive who hasn't basehed the incumbant president!
You never heard George Carlin's routines!
You never heard Cheech and Chong's routines!
You never ready any of what Thomas Jefferson or Thomas Paine had to say about religion.
It's the American way. It's something NO OTHER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD HAS. NO sacred cows.

yes.
but you don't have a right to start a riot. just like you don't have a right to yell "fire!!!" in a crowded movie theater when there really is no fire.
But if there is no reason other than a willingness to riot on the part of people who feel "insulted" then it's ok to insult anyone. It's a responsibility of the person who exercises their free speech.
So, it's ok to insult a religion even if you know it'll cause a riot but it's NOT ok to yell "FIRE!!" in that theater.
got it ??

I think encouraging ignorance by giving religious groups special privileges is not a good thing. Its best to point out evil and falsehood where ever it may lie. Allowing evil or falsehood to go unchallenged just because it might offend someone's religious belief doesn't do anyone any good. If people can't take a little analysis of their belief systems then their belief systems are likely suspect to begin with.

I was always taught that my freedom ends where someone else's rights begin. If I am infringing on another person's freedom to worship how they like, if I am offending someone, I am in the wrong. It's common courtesy to not talk about certain topics in settings where they may cause undo debate. In my opinion, bashing of prophets, religious symbols, religious leaders, etc. is not a freedom. It's just bad manners. If you have morals, you won't do it, publicly or privately.

You can insult whoever you want.
Note: This forum is privately owned and doesn't feel that way, so it may get removed here. That doesn't mean that the west doesn't think that it is legal. You are quite free to publish whatever you want on your own. Just understand that the other side will use it against you.

I believe that you can say anything you want. That is what freedom of speech and expression is. I may not agree with what you have to say but that does not give me the right to prevent you from saying it. This is where Islam is the least tolerant religion on earth. If someone in an Islamic country converts from Islam to Christianity they could be put to death. If someone says something deemed offensive to Islam than they could be killed, all because it is offensive to God.
Let me ask you this, if it is offensive to God, why does he need you to act in his name? Surely if God decides to punish someone he can handle it himself!
Doing evil in Gods name is offensive and those who do evil in his name will be judged accordingly.
