"vascualr tissue" - hey pollen tube, whats crackin?
pollen tube - aint sht, just chillin up in this plant
vt - word, me too. this plant is a slam bama, son.
pt - no doubt, i say we pay the tissue culture a little visit. show him how we roll in this btch.

Plant tissue culture is controlled dramatically by two plant hormones: auxin and cytokinin. Auxin makes the cells grow bigger and cytokinin makes them divide. Vascular tissue and pollen can take up cytokinins (see reference) ...so I guess they might also have some stores of cytokinin that leak out and initiate cell division in tissue cultures (assuming your observations are correct).
