It's a pretty name. It's Greek. There's a movie called Eleni. It's a tru story about a Greek woman's fight for survival for herself and her children after the second world war. It's also a book written by her son Nicholas Gage. Really worrthwhile.

Eleni is a Greek name which translates to Helen in English.
It is very popular in the Greek community.
Eleni is a lovely name but as other people on this site have proved can be difficult to say. Have you thought about adapting it sightly for when she goes to school to something like Helen, Helena, Eleanor or Elena?

I live in Gibraltar and as we are so near to Spain just separating as from a border many spaniards come here to work every day, this is a very common spanish name, we hear it quite a lot. In English it is Helen. If you like it then its up to you, I do like it.
