It simply means the nerves that feed a specific dermatone. If you check out the body's dermatones you will see how they are divided up.

Dermatomal innervation is the map of skin parts supplied by nerves of different spinal segments. Skin over shoulder is supplied by C 5 which means the skin over deltoid is innervated by 5th cervical cord segment.

pick up an anatomy book. you will see pictures of people's skin divided up into zones, and each of the zones is served by a particular nerve.
