properly, there could be a number of issues going at right here. one can be this technique which you're utilising to play the DVDs with, there's a separate quantity administration and mute button on there. on top of issues panel below sounds and audio gadgets, examine each and all the settings. Double tic the speaker icon in the tray and make beneficial that no longer something has been muted different than for the microphone. the subsequent element that I even have theory-approximately became the DVD's drivers, precise tic on my laptop and decide cope with. in the left pane, decide on gadget supervisor, in the main remarkable pane, tic on the plus sign next to DVD/CD-ROM Drives. precise tic on the DVDpersistent and decide uninstall, then reboot the laptop to re-deploy the drivers. the subsequent element is the sound card drivers, which you will get from Dell on their web site below help and downloads. i desire certainly one of those issues enables you out.

We've just got a dell too and the software was pre installed. There should be an icon on your desk top looking like a CD with 'Burn CDs & DVDs' under it.
Otherwise just download one off the web.
