Im genuinely intrigued now, to know how a question(innocuous, compared with some others Ive read) gets removed so fast.(When the Muslims get slated for not allowing freedom of speech,it is odd).
Are the Q and As scanned by a 'Yahoo Answers' panel,or adjudicator,or is a Q removed automatically if someone asks for it to be removed?Perhaps I should stick to the banal and uncontroversial(like the 'musak' they play in shops these days)?

That is a very good question. I wonder that myself. I think they wait until someone reports it and then review it.

computer programs sift through the content. WHen one gets reported it scans though even more efficeintly, the more the reports the more likely the computer will just automatically delete it.

Also the posters past abuse reports take into effect helping the computer determine if its just more 'trolling'

Yahoo released a press anouncement on this. Im sure you can find it. They say the biggist concern on Answers is the Trolling and after xmas they are releasing new software that should really help rid of trolling.

I would stick to the banal for the present until the current deleting frenzy is over and then when some normality returns to the board you can post comments that are a bit more contentious.

Absolutely, no one looks if reported violated.I asked a very sincere serious polite question it was removed. There was nothing at all they went against the guidelines.Report, remove, that is all.

A little Gnome who lives under a Toadstool is the arbiter of all things Yahoo. But surely you knew that?

I just had a question removed and I've no idea why.

It was just about New Year's eve parties for singles in London, what could be wrong with that?

I think it's a robot. I think it's a text robot with a lexicon of things Yahoo is looking for and it returns questions and answers with those things and then someone physically goes there and pulls them.

Kinda makes one wonder at what gets removed when you see what gets to stay.

I think there's a list of key words which, if used, prevents q's being shown.
'Suck' is definitely one of them !
