One other point abut the digital switch-over that has to be stated.

Do people realise they will need a digibox for every analogue set in the house AND the analogue video recorder? Also, at the moment you can set your video to say record Coronation St then change channels and record Eastenders. In the digital era, it won't be able to change the channel, as that's done on the Digibox.

Starts in 2008 in certain ITV regions (Border, covering Carlisle is one of the first) followed by the various others up until 2012, when the switch-over will be complete. Loads of websites about this, including the government one at www.digitaltelevision.gov.uk which will tell you just about everything you need to know.

The year 2009.....but if 80% of homes DON'T have a Digital TV....then they push it back as far as 2012, and that's the farthest back they push it....

2012 Guaranteed...no matter what....

But with Digital SD TVs and Digital HD TVs being sold since the beginning of this year....MOST LIKELY you'll see 80% of the households will have ONE DIGITAL TV IN THEIR HOME....

That's the FCC rulings on the Digital changover.....

Varies around the country - anything from 2008 to 2012 as it is being phased on a regional basis.

I think it is in 2012 but you can get a freeview box from most retailers if you want digital now and most new TVs have built in digital recievers.

Hope this helps
