Well, the Hebrew Torah, the Pauline Epistles of the New Testament and Islam all teach that women should cover their hair. Yes, Christianity also requires this, which is why some conservative Christian women still go to church covering their heads.

However, many Muslim women take this to the extreme and cover every inch of themselves. This is either because of religious fanaticism or cultural traditions from their partriarchal societies. The abuse of women that you find in Islamic countries comes from these pre-Islamic cultural norms that have nothing whatsoever to do with Islam and actually in many instances go against the teachings of the Qur'an.

You'll find, actually, that the condition of women in Arabia prior to the advent of Muhammad was utterly despicable. Muhammad raised them from essentially a status as non-humans and gave them human rights and property. Unfortunately, the people of that time were not yet ready for full emancipation of women, which is why a later Revelation from God would be required to do that. In the nineteenth century, Baha'u'llah, the Promised One of all religions appeared and declared that, in reality, men and women have always been equal in the sight of God. It was human limitations and not divine principles, which prevented this from being revealed in an earlier age.

Allow me to enlighten you!

Dressing that way is what they call HIJAB (i.e. cover); However, it is not mention in the Holy Qur'an (or Koran) that women should cover themselves; the way some Muslims do especially Shiites. If we go back to the old days of Christianity, men & women used to cover their head as well (Ref: Jesus of Nazareth: the movie), but that was then, not at the end of 2006!!! Where in some countries you can only see the eyeballs of Muslim women... I am sure 90% of those women are not convinced of what they are being forced to do, but unfortunately, it's not in their power to change this situation, and I feel sorry for them...

You have it backwards: the emperor's style came AFTER the robes found in many different cultures. He is therefore dressing like a woman!

Somebody call George Lucas on this one!

Oops, that's right. The Galactic Republic George imagined was based on the Roman Senate of 2000 years ago. They all wore robes then, hence the similiarity of style.

If the clothing is extensive (properly) and not tight, then definite it doesnt make you warm in any respect. Infact it supplies your physique greater area to go contained in the garments ^^ (and sticking to uncomplicated experience regulations like no longer wearing loads of garments in summer season enables ) now and returned tho the pinnacle section could sense warm because of the fact the headcovers could properly be tight. yet there are procedures of handling that. thank you for the stunning question :)

No it's not hot. It actually keeps us more cooler than in western clothing because the loose aya which is the black cloth that women wear lets the air go through freely.
