I have since 1997 expirence this pain in my upper abdominal area where it feels like a contractions. Then as soon as pain disappears I have wicked diarrhea. I have gone to the doctors and they have prescibed Donnatol and some other medications at different times. I think it was called Hyomyathacin.Ok not sure if that is spelled right. I keep getting different diagnoses. One was called abdominal migraine and the flu for the other. Then any other time I just don't go to the doctor I just wait it out. It last for just a day but it wears me out.

The pain first came when I had the hives. The hives lasted for 3 months and never returned again.

I've had similar problems myself, and the doctors were hopeless at treating me. I started seeing a kinesiologist, and now I'm all clear. Kinesiology will find why the problem keeps recurring (whether it be a trauma to the body through illness or injury, if it's an emotional issue for you, or whatever). It will then clear the problem from your body.
Kinesiology is disregarded by many because they don't understand it, but I have used it for gall stones, liver problems, severe depression bordering on psychosis, terrible bowel problems (I thought I had gastro for five weeks, turned out to be an anxiety issue), insomnia, oh a whole bunch of stuff. I was really messed up, barely functioning at all, but now I'm fine, and I only started treatment in September.
I highly recommend it, and wish you all the best :)

I think you should see a bowel specialist, I'm guessing there is some sort of obstruction in you tract.
