Was it fair from prophet Muhammed to KILL a woman for refusing to convert to Islam?

Question

Islamic history tells that when prophet Muahmemd conquered Mecca, he gave a list of 10 names for people whom should be killed wherever they were found, even if they were inside the Ka'aba (the most holy place for Msulims).

Among those people who should be KILLED was a woman with the name of Sara. The reason prophet Muhammed killed her was because she went to him once asking for some charity because she was broke, and prophet Muhammed gave her money and food on hope she might convert to Islam, but she took the money and food and returned back to her town without converting to Islam.

That story raises many questions:
1- Is refusing to convert to Islam should be punished by DEATH?
2- Was being a Muslim a condition to receive charity?
3- Why did prophet Muhammed violate the many Quranic verses that gave immune for people who enter the Ka'aba (the most holy place for Muslims)?

Sarah was a singing-girl of Makkah who at times also sang dirges in the mourning parties of Quraysh. After the Battle of Badr her business in Makkah slackened, because on account of a large number of important personalities of Quraysh having been killed in that battle, Makkah was completely engulfed in grief, and there was no occasion for musical and pleasure-seeking parties. Furthermore, in order that the anger and grudge of Quraysh should survive and their desire to take revenge might not die away, singing of mournful songs was strictly prohibited.

For the reasons mentioned above Sarah came to Madina after two years of Badr. When the Prophet asked her whether she had embraced Islam she replied in the negative. Then the Prophet asked her as to why she had come to Madina. To this she replied: "From the view point of origin and lineage I belong to Quraysh. However, some of them have been killed and some others have migrated to Madina. After the Battle of Badr my business slackened and I have come over here out of need". The Prophet then ordered immediately that necessary food and dress might be provided to her. Sarah was treated so kindly by the Prophet, but, on receiving ten Dinars from Hatib bin Abi Balta'ah, she undertook to spy against Islam and to carry to Quraysh his letter containing information regarding the preparedness of the Muslims to conquer Makkah. The Prophet summoned three brave soldiers and asked them to proceed to Makkah, arrest the said woman wherever they saw her and take the letter from her. The persons to whom this task was entrusted were Ali, Zubayr and Miqdad. They arrested the woman at a place called Rauzat Khakh and checked her luggage minutely but did not find anything. The woman also strongly denied that she was carrying any letter from Hatib. Ali said: "By Allah! Our Prophet never tells a lie. You must surrender the letter, or else we shall recover it from you by all possible means".

In the meantime Sarah realized that Ali was a soldier who would not give up the search until he had carried out the orders of the Prophet. She, therefore, requested him to keep aloof. Then she took out a small letter from the inner folds of her hair and surrendered it to Ali.

It is understandable that people are upset with Muslims. There is alot of confusion, but Hate won't help anyone but the terrorist. They want to divide and conquer.

We need to get his message out so other plotting terrorist have the opportunity to know that their is HOPE if they are having a change of heart and need to see that someone else who was consumed by hate is now part of the solution.

All you wrote in your question is nothing but rubbish... I never saw it anywhere in Islam. When Prophet conqured Mecca in a bloodless war... he announced for a general forgiveness for everyone. he didnt even said what you wrote in your question...

Islam is the fastest growing religion of the world... specially in America... and if you listen to some of those people who converted to Islam you will realize that what rubbish do you hear in the media...

Sorry to say but i have a feeling that some people on this thread are getting paid for writting rubbish about Islam... but comeon you are not against Islam actually you are against God... do you really think that you can defeat God...

Why are there so many islamophobes on Yahoo! Answers? Refusing to convert to Islam is not punishable by death. Charity in Islam is unconditional. I'm sure you are misinterpreting this tradition in order to make Him appear bad.
