$50-$100 (per fisherman) is usually about right unless that guide has worked very hard to put you on trophy fish, help you land a fish of a lifetime, or you can afford more. Let your guide know beforehand that you plan to tip him well for extra services or trophy fish boated and he/she will usually go out of their normal routine and fish the most productive waters with you. It pays to keep your guide happy and you will be the one reaping the reward.

Depends on the amount of the guided trip. If the guide is fair, works hard and is a good fella (or gal !) the tip should be 20-25%
of the guide fee. If 2 peple are on the trip, the tip should be 15 %
apiece.

Cost of trip, how many in the party, work done by your guide to help you catch, and most of all... did you catch? I'm a fly fishing guide in CT/ MA, and I have gone as far as setting the hook for some less experienced, and always try to make the trip a learning experience. ALL my trips are fun and productive. I have recieved tips from $20 to a little over $600 from a group of 4, who have booked every year since.

This is a good question. My brothers and I went on a Lake Michigan charter in September. This guy was good. Caught our limit even though we had 15' seas. A $500 bill and we tipped $50 dollars a piece.($200) Couldn't have caught the fish without him!

I always start off the trip at %15. And as the day progresses, add/subract accordingly based on your experience.
