the cd drive does not show up on the computer or play cd or films now and its a brand new driver

my drive does the same. To get it to work again goto control panel & select add hardware. It will do a search & ask if you have already attatched the hardware. Click yes. It will then produce a list. Scroll down & highlight your CD drive & click next. Then click finnish. Now go into my computer & hopefully you will see your drive. Good luck.

If it's a brand new drive, you'll have the installation disk, I presume. Reinstall the driver from this. Otherwise go to the manufacturers' website and hunt down the appropriate driver to download.

chances are it has the wrong driver you can 1. find the drivers that came with your computer the actual disk 2. look for the manufacturer and troll or the driver on the internet.

First open and see your Lence.Lence's colour in blue or Light Black.If BLUE your drive is worh properly else You see Light Black You through out your CD ROM

check to see the wiring is not to dusty or if the conections are loose also maybe its your computer not the drive

reset the cmos by removing the battery and putting it back in if that don't work update the firmware but only do the update if windows does not recognize it by the model it is. you mess up the firmware your not going to fix it has been my experience
