God doesn't punish in this system. What do you think Armageddon means? It's God's war.
There will be millions of survivors on earth when Armageddon has run its course. (Revelation 7:9-14) The prophecy at Proverbs 2:21, 22 will have been fulfilled: "The upright are the ones that will reside in the earth, and the blameless are the ones that will be left over in it. As regards the wicked, they will be cut off from the very earth; and as for the treacherous, they will be torn away from it."

If something bad happens, see what good is possible of resulting. I think every bad event is capable of producing some good, even if we can't see it right away. I don't try to interpret if God is punishing me or if Satan is active in my life or if it is merely just a bad coincidence, I still always look for what I can do to make things better. God never punishes people (if he indeed punishes people) just to be a Sadistic Being, he always has a greater purpose and a beneficial will.

I think it's difficult to know when God is punishing you because sometimes he just lets the Devil punish you not because you did something wrong but because he is proud of you, proud of the faith you have in him, proud that you believe and trust him, proud that you acknowledge him as God. The reason you may go through such hardship is because He wants to let the devil know that you are a true faithful child of his. Read the book of Job, you will understand what I am saying.

I think you will know. It comes out of His love and is very harsh indicating His abhorance of the things that we do in violation to His word and His will.
Hebrews 12:5 "MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD, NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM; 6 FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES." 7 It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons."
People who are not truly Christians can get away with sin, because they will be judged later, but true Christians never get away with it. God always brings it back on you.

you will know because when you do something wrong you will know it and the guilt concience will haunt you so when you are being punished its like you are being freed from some chains of that sin which you have commited because when you commit sin it will hold you in slavery until it has been forgiven by GOD.

Punished by God,no, no, not unless you are of the children of disobedience.Chastisement is to bring you back into blessings just the way you would discipline your child.
You should read the first Psalm and learn what it is to be blessed.

He doesn't exist, get over it and stop worrying. Like the first answer says listen to your conscience, having one doesn't depend on there being a god.

If you look at chastened as being punished, then if you listen it may be well enough. However, if you look at chastened as being 'corrected' or to be put 'correct' then hopefully you are being chastened often enough. Correct....er...um...chasten me if I am wrong. I still may not get it.
