Any food normally cooked at home or at a reputable eating place will normally be good for the eater. But ,if you are a vegetarian or a Vegan, and you eat mutton unwillingly, it can become bad for your health. This has more to do with the preparedness of the Gastro intestinal tract to receive and process the mutton. Food consumed under compulsion produces negative energy in the body.
Another question is whether you are raising a question of fundamental suitability of mutton as human food. Carnivorous animals have a shorter GI tract and their digestive juices are fast acting. Human and other herbivorous animal " G. I .Tracts are relatively much longer and the digestive juices are slow acting. Logically, therefore, we were built to be vegetarians. Since most religions claim that GOD had made man in His image, (the reverse can also be held to be valid) perhaps that is the right food habit for us.
The main logic in avoiding Non Veg: food has been that it requires much stronger spicing which excite the violent moods and makes the eaters prone to baser instincts. Such food is not recommended for those who want to lead a life of piety, moderation and follow intellectual pursuits. But the same food is recommended for those whose duties require violence, anger and stronger emotions.

If you like it eat it.
If we stayed away from everything that may have the potential of doing some harm to us we would starve to death so what would you like starving or living to about 100 and then dieing of some long term food problem.
