I believe he was married because in the bible he was called Rabbi in several places.
According to Jewish law (that Jesus lived under) Rabbis had to be married, and their family of good reputation.

The Da Vinci code is a workof Fiction, a story, written by Dan Brown. Fiction = not real.
Jesus may have been a work of fiction too, well at least the scriptures written about him all seem to be contradictory in content, and all were written a long time after he was crucified. However, many accept him as a real person, including Leonardo Da Vinci, who painted the The Last Supper believed in Christ, and so did his patrons.
It was painted onto the walls of the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie near Milan. Leonardo spent three years painting the work, and much of that time was spent searching the streets of Milan for models of Christ and Judas. It is said that only Leonardo's threats to paint the Prior of the convent as Judas bought him the time he needed to finish.
Although it was common to paint directly onto the walls of building, Leonardo was not trained in this 'fresco' technique, and made a poor choice of materials. This, along with the humid conditions in the convent, meant that the painting began deteriorating while Leonardo was still alive. The refectory has also been flooded and used as a stable - but the painting's luckiest escape came during the Second World War, when the refectory was hit by a bomb. Only some carefully placed sandbags saved this masterpiece from destruction.
There have been so many attempts to restore The Last Supper, most of which have done more harm than good. A full restoration was recently completed. It took twenty years - five times longer than Leonardo took to complete the original. However, virtually none of the original paint remains, and critics claim we can no longer regard this as a Leonardo painting.
So much of the surface is just the re-botched up repair, that when Dan brown wrote his little story, it was easy for him to suggest anything. The book is brain candy of the highest quality, well reseached, but its still just a story to entertain you, not gospel fact (sic).

This cannot be proved or disproved with the documents available, including the Bible, which neither says that he was or was not married. One intriguing fact that leads some to think Jesus was married is that he was a rabbi and apparently in that day and age it was highly unlikely a rabbi in his 30's would be unmarried. A reason Mary Magdalene is such an intriguing candidate (other than medieval legend... and hey, dragons were medieval legend too) is that she was clearly very important to him--she's the apostle who sticks with him through the crucifixion, and the one to whom he first appears when resurrected. Whenever Jesus is traveling with a group of women, Mary Magdalene is listed *before his mother* which could also be important... or it might not! Those are just thoughts on which people (like DaVinci Code, Holy Blood Holy Grail, etc.) have built theories. But they're by no means incontrovertible fact... nor, to many of us, are the teachings of the Catholic Church incontrovertible fact.
Really, I'm not quite sure why it makes that big a difference, actually (except in the Catholic Church's current position against priests marrying--which, by the way, did not become church law until the 1100's). Married or not married, he was still Jesus, right?

You know I really don't know, but it is very interesting. I am a Christian and I love Jesus Christ but I have to admit reading the bible really ticks me off sometimes the way men in the bible talked about women. The man comes through the womb of the woman and yet we are judged so harshly in the bible. If a woman did anything wrong she was just so foul and the man... well it was different. The Davinci Code really gained my interest regarding the Holy Grail (Mary M.) If the story is true then I guess I understand why the bible was written against woman as it was. You know it's funny because before I watched the Davinci Code I always wondered why did Jesus have to die a virgin and not take on a wife. Companionship is a blessing. With all that he went through as a man I would think he would have been allowed a mate. God made Eve for Adam; why not his own son.

check the answers, james brown, king of soul died, dan brown however, spun that yarn. Da Vinci code is fiction, but who knows what really ahppened 2000 years ago. Who is to say that the bible is 100% accurate? I am sure there are some kernels of truth in the book, and it was loosely based on actual research. There are always conspiracy theories about everything. Some people believe the world trade center was toppled by the US govt.

i'm Jewish. i don't carry to the Da Vinci Code nonetheless. It replaced right into a paintings of fiction. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, for a pupil, a Rabbi around the age of 30, it could have been unparalleled on the time for him to have been single. In Israel they have got here upon a tomb they think of would have been the Jesus kinfolk tomb and from that it shows he would have been married to Mary Magdalene (spelling?). i don't kow in spite of if this is actual and that i be attentive to this is not taught in Christianity yet i've got faith there replaced into each and every likelyhood that he would have been. additionally if he have been married it does not have been pronounced interior the Christian Bible. The Romans had a bad habit of not purely going after the criminal yet his infants, father, brothers and so on. Wifes and daughters have been additionally each and every each and every now and then taken. Had he been married and had infants it could have been couched in code and indecipherable words. additionally the books that have been no cannonized supply a various image on occasion of his abode existence. it might desire to be purely approximately assured that when Jesus replaced into killed, his kinfolk could have been hunted down by using the Romans. If he had a son or spouse, they could have been noted as something different than contributors of his amily. The e book The Jesus kinfolk Tomb talks approximately this and in spite of if or not you suspect interior the tomb in any respect, the historic info of the e book at the instant are not disputable with reference to Roman rule. examine it out in case you like. this is exciting in spite of in case you suspect it or not.

First, the DaVinci Code was FICTION, and should not be interpreted as factual.
Second, aside from the Gospels, Jesus isn't mentioned anywhere for almost a century after his alleged death.
Jesus as a real person hasn't been established as fact, so whether or not he was married is irrelevant.

Can you imagine the disruption in the genetic code that would create? Jesus had all the same genetic material as Adam. His DNA would overwhelm that of any female, as would his children, for generations. It would take thousands of years for it to be diluted enough to where they would have the same health problems and short life span as anyone else. He may not have his first child until he was well over 400 years of age, and the same would be for his children, grandchildren, etc.
