I live in Mexico and I saw on a website that Mexico is the country with the most American expatriates, estimated at 1 million. Many of them are elderly people who retire to San Miguel de Allende, in the state of Guanajuato.

I live overseas, cause its cheaper for older folks like myself to get by on their pension etc. I live on about $500 to 600 here and have a nice house, driver (taxii all the time), maid, watch dog, cable, internet, electric lights, water, and flush toilet. I cant even get a house with an indoor toilet in Tennessee for this price, you have to go to the out house in the cold of winter. And taxii cabs eat up your pension over their in them their states. Plus liquor is much cheaper here, say a 1/5 of brandy for a couple of bucks, cigarettes here only Malboro lights cost about 50 cents a pack, cheaper if you smoke local. Well back to uour question, I would say based on my facts.....20 to 30 million live overseas somewhere, thats a rough estimate based on this country I live in multiplied by all the other countries around the world.
