Worshiping a god has nothing to do with remembering and forgetting. It is all about living the life as true human being and hold humanity in your heart. You should not hurt anyone intentionally. When you are happy, you celebrate that moment with you close ones around you. That means you are sharing a kind of love and affections for each other. That means indirectly you are worshiping the god. In bad times you do not have anyone to share your sorrow with, you are alone, so god is the only close friend available. It’s human nature, which is again structured by god. So according to me god is always there in our hearts and minds. Remembering a god is an involuntary act.

MMMMMMM this is such a good question. We are to pray and worship God at all times. I often wonder why we feel that when things are going the way we want them to go, We wont even acknowledge God. But as soon as we have a breakdown we start praying and shouting God's name. Does he hear us since we only use him like a vending machine? hmmm... I talk to the master all the time. There are times where I will just say
"I'm not asking for anything, I just want to take time out to thank you". We are to have a personal relationship with God always... especially when things are going great! ;)

Perhaps that is the nature of Christianity. I'm not trying to be mean, but as a Wiccan I am always aware that the good that comes into my life is a result of my karma and the blessings of the Goddess and God, and when things aren't going so well I know that I can change it, and look to the Goddess and God for assistance. So that's "your" thing. It's not universal.

Matt, look mate, when ever anyone is asked to validate the reason they have faith in god, the say stuff like 'just look around at the beautiful sky and sunset and trees and hills and animals etc.etc. They NEVER mention the natural disasters and mosquitoes that kill off millions of innocent children every year.

Because when we are living the moment, we don't dwell on what is not present, aside from meditation. But when we are desperate, guilty, or faced with grief, we become lazy about taking control of what IS and begin bargaining with 'god' as a sign of weakness and psychological self-created soothing.

I don't believe in God in good times or bad. On the contrary, a close friend of mine believes strongly day and night.

Because probably when we are having good times, we aren't thinking about God. We are having too much of a good time. When we are having a really bad day and we don't have anyone else to turn to, thats when we think about God. Remember he is always with you in good times and bad. I like to think, he is sitting in my passenger right next to me. Hope that helps.

in prosperity, our pride and ingratitude make us believe that we are the sources of the bliss, but in hardships in the middle of the dark we finally recognize the only glimpse of light that is left to us: God's mercy . thus, we look up to heaven and raise our hands asking for forgiveness and relief. the more honest we are, the quiker is the answer to our prayers. the wisdom behind this is that God blisses us with distress to purify our souls and to draw us back to Him. hence, the true believer learns the lesson by heart and he always admits: i am speechless before Your graces in misery and happiness alike

Do not throw the stone at other faces please. If you are this kind then change your attitudes and behaviour. In bad or good time always thanks God for everything has its own purpose. Bad time consider them a blessing too for it keeps you more stronger into your faith, to hold unto him to be more vigilant and be guarded accordingly. Good times that means the LORD GOD is working in you, rewarding all your deeds.
