I had really bad back pains a week before I went into labor with my son and then after 45 mins in the shower they stopped, real contractions do not stop. It is a sign you body is getting ready to go, so keep up the good work and don't look at the calender, go get a pedicure or a acupressure foot massage or a whole body massage if you can. but if they have not stopped just changing in intensity it can be real labor, but if you want a natural birth best to stay home as long as possible.

If it is just one night, then take some tylenol or motrin and get into a comfortable position and go back to sleep. Trauma comes in ways that you dont notice. It could be something that would respond well to ultrasound and to interferential currents.

With respect to the cutting off of your legs, there is a guy that talked about doing that 4 years ago. If you sent him some money, you could watch it happen live. He kept setting the date back and back. His site is still up and he is talking about doing it January 5th now.

It may feel that you want to do that, but there are so many reasons that you don't want to follow in this fellow's thought pattern. Talk to amputees and you will see what I am talking about.

If you are young age group and theres no history of trauma than beware of few condition where knee hurts particularly at night and is relieved by taking aspirin. The condition is osteoma which is benign bony tumour and has propensity to affect femur bone . than there can be osteoblastomas. etc . Even ligament degeneration produces pain but typical history of night onset pain is more in favour of osteoma. Go to orthpedician and get your self examined.

Have similar problem but also had it 'lock up' on me, and it has taken four doctors and one specialist to diagnose after 18 months, it turns out I had torn the cartilage at work last year, now waiting for arthroscopic to assess and repair. The first diagnosis was for gout, had blood test which ruled it out also negative for arthritis and rheumatism. Get it checked now and insist on seeing a specialist if you are not satisfied with the diagnosis.

It depends how old you are. It could be due to a medical condition, or you might have strained it somehow. What have you been doing lately? Maybe that's a clue.If it keeps bothering you go to the doctor and have it checked out. Sometimes little things can cause aches and pains.

One possibility is you have Arthritis. Have you noticed more pain when there is a lot of rain? Have you been sitting too long? You may have poor circulation. If this is the case, you should really go see a doctor as soon as possible, as you may have a blood clot. What ever it is don't put off seeing your doctor.

I think you shouldn't cut off your knee!

Seriously, go to the doctor. You may have torn a ligament, or strained something. Did you try icing it? See if that helps.

Hi Kate, i know how you feel. I just had a minor surgery to repair torn meniscus in my knee. What you need to do first thing is ICE it..............that is what they told me to do after my surgery. Then go to a good ortho doc and he will take x-rays or get you to go get an MRI. The longer you wait the more painful it will get so get your butt to the doc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
